Who is Dean Michael?

Dean Michael Streater is the principal solicitor of Dean Michael Solicitors, where the firm derives it’s name from, and he has practiced in the Jervis Bay region since 2015.

Formerly, the Vincentia office of Dean Michael Solicitors at 2/29 The Wool Rd, Vincentia, traded as Jack C Herrald Solicitors Vincentia, together with an office in Queanbeyan operated by then principal Phil Herrald. The Vincentia office restructured under Dean Michael Solicitors in July 2020.

Previously the firm of Jack C Herrald Solicitors, founded by Jack C Herrald, has its origins in the 1950’s in Canberra expanding with the help of his son Phil Herrald, adding and relocating to offices in Queanbeyan, Batemans Bay, Newcastle, and even the Gold Coast.

Phil Herrald, a solicitor in NSW, and barrister in the ACT, continues to assist the Vincentia office of Dean Michael Solicitors as a consultant, and runs his practice in Queanbeyan under the name of Jack C Herrald Solicitors.

Keeping it simple

Law can be tricky, it can be complicated, it can be messy. We have always found that being proactive and preventing problems is easier than fixing them after. That’s why we focus on keeping it simple with regular contact with our clients, being approachable, and fair with our fees. For us the law is about helping people – it’s about building relationships and growing the community.

What to expect when you come to see us

We believe in treating people like people and not a commodity, so we follow a process that helps us understand you better.

Step 1. Give us a call or email

We want to get to know you so we can understand your situation and how we can help you, so please give us a call or email and we can help understand your issues and give you an idea of how we can help and what the likely costs will be.

Step 2. Chat and estimate

Following our initial discussions we will be able to advise you of the next steps, which if we can help you will be to schedule an appointment in person, or if you can’t attend our office, by teleconference or video conference. Usually the first appointment will be an hour, we will advise you of the costs of this meeting in advance.

Step 3. Formal proposal

We’ll follow up from our meeting with a letter letting you know next steps and a detailed proposal.

Step 4. Let’s get started!

If you’re happy for us to go ahead and look after you we’ll start doing the work.

In some instances we may ask you to deposit some funds in trust against expenses we may incur. If that’s the case we’ll let you know in advance.

So if you have a matter you think you might need help with, even if it seems small, come in and see us today. Because the sooner we know what you’re dealing with, the more help we can give you.
